Client Brief
Presently the Basement Garden attached to William Buckland building has restricted space for patients and staff to move and enjoy the setting comfortably.
It is proposed to enlarge the seating capacity and improve the amenity by reducing the garden bed and setting it back further by installing retaining walls, incorporate timber decking and rubberized paving.
There will be the addition of a pergola for shade, low maintenance planting and enlarged seating capacity to improve the amenity of the area by adding colour, space and light providing a quiet contemplative atmosphere.
Only having one entry point to this site which was a narrow stair case, most large items had to be craned into the site including plant and equipment.
